| Sue Clowes created brilliant fabric designs based on a cultural concepts and a one-nation ideal. We used the Star Of David as a symbol which was tied in with Rastafarianism, the lost tribe of Juda. Sue went to the library and looked up Culture Club in Hebrew script and made the first official Culture Club T-Shirt, a huge black Star of David sourrounded by roses and a golden aura with the words tarabat agadar, meaning movement of all cultures. Both Sue and I were fascinated by Catholic camp, religious taboos and ancient symbolism. | |||||||||||||||||||
