STEVE STRANGE STRANGE CRUISE

Reluctantly I agreed to do it and we got an EMI deal.  I optimistically called the new group Strange Cruise, but I think from that moment my heart wasn't in it, particularly  when they sent us over to Germany to a recording studio not far from Nuremburg to record the first album. I used to call the studio the Hammer House of Horrors. We were working  with Mike Hedges, who was a good producer, but i didn't like the way he worked.  The band, who were very experienced, actually knew more about music than he did and he could not come to terms with it. The album had the potentian to have been a good album, if we had a different producer. Mike Hedges had gone The Banshees and Soft Cell, so he was obviously talented but we just didn't click.
