						PERFIDIA bio by NICKY LONDON
		At the ripe age of 21 Perfidia left Southern California for the bright lights of New York City and started working at Pat Field’s downtown store. The store has been legendary in shaping New York’s pop culture and fashion scene since the 1960’s. Soon making his way into the New York club scene it wasn’t long before Perfidia became a star. Winning the Miss Boy Bar competition in 1986 and soon becoming a regular at Palladium, Danceteria, Area and DJing at Mars. Later Pat Field would promote Perfidia as her top wig technician in the salon part of her establishment. This would make Perfidia very much in demand by every major drag queen in New York. Susanne Bartsch also took an interest, employing Perfidia to appear at her parties as part of the entertainment. They also went on tour all over the world which helped create much notoriety and recognition. As vogueing and pageant like balls came into fashion for the downtown club scene, House of Field gained much attention for being a strong competitor within this arena. Bartsch and Field both created huge events which focused even more attention on Perfidia and inspired her to create her own ball-like events. Working at Pat Field’s during the day and hosting parties at night led Perfidia to the theater as wig and hair technician for shows such as Miss Saigon, Aida and Taboo. Perfidia is a Tour-de-Force for New York City. Just one of the many treasured talents that has helped create the scene as well as making the theater a more visually inspiring experience.
