Why?
As a tourist to Burma you will travel on roads and railroads, see temples and palaces and stay in hotels built or rebuilt since 1988, which will definitely contain the dead bodies of the slave labourers who made them for you.
Burma has no colleges or universities (closed since 1996) except for the military dictatorship S.P.D.C. [State Peace and Development Council]. Most teachers and students are in the no man's land or dead already.
Burma has only one doctor for every 25.000 people and they cost money (many doctors are refugees - nurses also). Burma's opium production has doubled since S.LO.R.C. and American collusion in the no man's land.

In Burma is illegal to:
" Establish or join a political party [5 years prison minimum]
" Voice a political opinion [20 years prison]
" Speak against the dictatorship [7 years prison minimum]
" To have a printing press or fax without government permit. Computer, internet, email: illegal [15 years prison]
" To put up a democratic poster [15 years prison]
" To discuss human rights [15 years prison]

I never met anyone going to Burma since 1988 to help the people there. Only selfish, ignorant people on holiday who want to see for themselves. See what? Burmese used as human landmine detectors? Burmese slave labour camps? Burmese people dead in piles in the no man's land? If you go to Burma, you pay to murder the people you visit.

Please help us to help refugees from Burma.
How can you help:
1. Please tell people about the no man's land between Burma - Thailand (where many thousands of people are killed each year: students, doctors, teachers, noone knows how many. Most will never get into the refugee camps).
2. Boycott slave labour companies in Burma (Unocal, Texaco, Total, AT&T, Sony, Procter & Gamble, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, etc).
3. Please don't go to Burma, tell others not to go and explain why. Tourism is Burma's 3rd largest industry after opium and the illegal American gas pipelines. Tourist money goes directly to the military dictatorship to control and murder Burmese people.
