Mr. Yeung of KMB, per Economic Daily's
report, indicated that Roadshow is not a nuisance. "Paid passengers
boarded buses, not to pursue a quiet environment." Mr. Yeung
of KMB (translated)
Our comments: nor should these passengers be forced to
listen to your advertisements, KMB. Wake up and polish your logic. |
|
|
Bus companies have said such broadcasts were welcome
by passengers based on surveys conducted. (we doubt them because
these surveys are suspicious and might be biased)
But if such logic prevails, bus companies should now lower their
fare because surveys on passengers have indicated so. |
|
As reported in Oriental Daily, upon receipt
of complaints from parents, the bus company replied that the condemned
ADS would continue until expiration of terms of contract.
What kind of logic is this: if the broadcast is acceptable,
there is no need for the bus company to terminate the broadcast.
If the broadcast was so undesirable, the bus company should terminate
its broadcast right away.
In fact, their contracts with advertisers allow the bus companies
to terminate any broadcast and they chose not to do it here. |

"Roadshow welcomes passengers'
opinions", claims Roadshow.
True or False?
KMB, Roadshow: How do you factor passengers' opinion into company's
decision making. In an environment where profit making is your prime
objective, we don't see these opinions would have any impact. For
argument's sake, if there exist a survey where majority indicates
they want a fare reduction; would you follow this opinion.
Furthermore, where freedom of passengers are concerned,
no survey, be it commissioned by KMB or Roadshow or by a genuinely
unbiased third party, would have the legal nor ethical imperative
to degrade such freedom.
